Juno, what kind of condition is it in? $10 shipped or was that w/o shipping? Not sure what Phoenix was talking about regarding the plastic, unless it was inside the box. The retail copies I see are cardboard boxes w/ a flap on the front.

I'm happy that they sell it directly.. But they should have done that first instead of making people think it was a "special gift" exclusive to people who spent 30$ in the online store.

By selling it right away the first time they would have saved lots of time and effort. And it would have made everyone happy once instead of half the people complaining first then the other half later.

Sad truth- anet was already screwed no matter what they did.

And those of us that already have it- didn't get it for free. We had to spend $30 to get it, not $10.

People with lack of access to the online store still won't get it either- depending on what this patner thing is.

That's true. I just thought the idea of the limited access was cool.

Thing is, no company will make their leet stuff the extra add-ons. Not enough people play them to make a profit.

No, it's either general expansion packs or leet weapons or something else that gets sold for extra money.

Perfect condition with map, just like it was when I bought it. Been sitting in a closet since.

fine for you, when its in the netherlands so shit easy, but in other european countries this is maybe not the case oO ever thought about that ? I doubt so ...

Don't waste your time argueing with children or adults who never quite managed to grow up.

The fact that the BMP will be available to most people who want it is a good thing. Had ANet known that the demand would've been as high as it was, there's no question that they would've tried to offer a more suitable solution. It was even stated, truthfully or not, that they didn't believe the content was enough to sell on it's own.

The problem is that there were a lot of crying from people who really wanted to collect the GWEN box/contents and at the time were faced with three choices:
  1. Buy the retail box at a lower price and miss out on the BMP content.
  2. Buy GWEN at a higher price in the online store and then buy a second copy at a retail store for the box.
  3. Buy $30 worth of content from the online store and miss out on the box.

None of those options are favorable to the player. The ideal situation would have been to buy at the lower retail price to get their box and then buy the BMP separate. But that wasn't an option at the time so one way or another they had to make a sacrifice if they wanted both GWEN box and BMP access. This is why some are unhappy and I understand that. However, it did work out great for ANET, at the expense of these players/fans, because if they really wanted both they had no choice but to buy GWEN/$30 of unwanted stuff from the online store and ANET got a bigger cut of the sales that way.

So if you were like me and were planning on buying GWEN online or didn't care about a collectable box, then the BMP was truly free. But if you were one of those who wanted the box and the BMP, then it was not free - it actually came with either an opportunity or real cost.

This doesn't really affect the value of the weapons since they can't be used by people without the BMP. So I don't really care one way or the other.

BUT it is still really shady of ANET to offer reissue something that was supposed to be only available for a limited time to customers that got in on the BMP promotion. What if the promotion sucked. Would they try to reissue it for money now? I doubt it cuz no one would buy it and it wouldn't be worth their efforts. So ANET makes more money, other customers get to use shiny new weapons, but the original customer was basically lied to. Now I see no reason to get in on any future ANET promotion. I'll can wait to see if it is cool/worth it and then just buy the reissue.

As far as it being free... I could have bought the expansion for less at Frys electronics and ended up paying about the same amount later for the same promotion.

god, really this f.ucking selfishness makes me really angry. I can't understand, how people can be soooooooo selfish.. like small babies...

GROW UP !!!!!!!!1

PS: sry for filter avoiding...but I'M so angry.. it would make my post look only silly, if itwould be full of the "red gored engine crap" mostly only ....
I had know intention of buying 3 chr slot back in September, 15 was enough. but the game I loved to play had an exclusive promotion and the only way to get said promotion was to spend $29(US) in the ING store, with having already pre-ordering GW:EN and wanting the box. Trusting Anet I would buy 3 Chr slots because this was an exclusive promotion would never be sold in the in game store. now fast forward to January this exclusive promotion is now being offered in the ING store for a third of the price I didn't want to spend back in September, having trusted Anet (something I will never do again) I feel Betrayed and lied to.

Perfect explanation of the situation.

I would like to thank Anet for making it available to others.

I'll attempt to stop arguing with the children or adults who never quite managed to grow up.

We did not pay $40 for the BMP, we paid $40 for GW:EN and got the BMP along with it. A sort of buy one, get one free. So yes, it was free. Quit saying it wasn't.

I'm pretty sure it was $40 in the store. I paid the $5 preorder to get early access and then paid the remaining $35 later, if I remember correctly.

EDIT: Yep, just checked my receipt. $39.99 online.

I think it's a wonderful idea. I love the weapons I got from it, and I got mine for free! If people want to shell out 8 bucks for a minipet, I think they should be allowed to shell out 10 for the chance to get some sweet weapons.

No, read my post. It should be hardest in Holland as we have no need for credit cards. Fact is, like in The States, anyone over 18 can apply for a credit card in Europe.
